DONAR EN GO FUNDEME

I am Ayubu Naandi, one of the Maasai community leaders from Engikaret, Tanzania. In our area, we have 32 villages with nearly 3,000 people, but there are many more communities like ours across the region. Severe drought has devastated our land, impacting both our quality of life and the environment we depend on. The water shortage has brought diseases, the death of livestock, and a significant decline in our livelihood.

In 2020, my brother and I founded Maasai Volunteering Solutions with the hope of supporting our community in the fight for a better future. In 2022, Loreto from Chile joined us, and together we have been developing pilot projects focused on education, health, agriculture, the environment, and economic development.

After our initial efforts, we’ve taken the next big step: the construction of the Roots of Hope: A Center for Life and Progress. This community learning center aims to provide a dedicated space for training, entrepreneurship, and progress for our people. Here, we will train community members in key areas such as sustainable agriculture and business, while also creating a production space that will help us market local products and generate income to support future projects.

The center’s location is a strategic advantage. It’s situated along the international highway connecting Arusha, Tanzania, with Nairobi, Kenya, making it not only easily accessible to our villages but also a key commercial point for selling local products, creating employment, and boosting economic growth. The center’s access to electricity and water will also be essential for helping the community during difficult times, providing sustainable solutions for the future.

However, we need your help to make this dream a reality. We are seeking financial support to complete the construction of the center. The total budget is 4,215 EUR (4,600 USD), broken down as follows:

  • Building materials: 1,375 EUR (1,500 USD)
  • Labor costs: 1,053 EUR (1,150 USD)
  • Furniture and equipment: 733 EUR (800 USD)
  • Connection to electricity and water: 1,053 EUR (1,150 USD)

With your donation, we can build a brighter future for the Maasai community, preserving our traditions while adopting the knowledge and tools necessary to face present and future challenges. Your support will make a difference!
