Explore community-led programs focused on:

Live in a Maasai community, learn from local traditions, explore Tanzania and gain skills that stay with you for life.
In Arusha, volunteers stay at Nareto House, our apartment in the city, offering a safe and comfortable environment with easy access to shops, services, restaurants, and local attractions.
In Engikaret Community, volunteers are hosted at our Community Learning Center, where accommodation, meals, training sessions, and community activities take place in the heart of Maasai land.
Our Community Learning Center serves as a hub for training, community development, cultural exchange, and sustainable livelihood projects.
The center allows us to host volunteers, deliver workshops, test demonstration projects, and provide services to travelers while creating local employment opportunities and supporting development rooted in Maasai culture and traditions.

For more than 12 years we have worked directly with volunteers and communities in Tanzania. Our local team provides guidance, support and a safe environment throughout your stay.
Your contribution supports community projects and local employment. Funds go directly to iniatiatives that benefit the people you work with.
We don’t just organize programs. We live here. Experience daily life in Maasai communities and discover Tanzania beyond tourism.
Because we manage our own projects, we can adapt experiences to your interests, skills and goals while responding to community needs.
The Maasai community of Engikaret has been established in this area since 1987. It is composed of villages, each representing a family, with natural fences that protect both homes and livestock. Within each village, there are designated areas for animals and housing, designed to shield them from wildlife.
Traditionally, the community relied solely on livestock for their livelihood. However, the effects of climate change have significantly impacted the region, altering their practices related to food, construction, health, and education. Today, the community has opened up to external knowledge to improve their quality of life, while still preserving their cherished traditions and way of living in this land.
You can participate from home or by coming to Tanzania, sharing our content, donating or volunteering.
We want to combat erosion by greening with compost and thus recover rain cycles.
We provide resources and knowledge on different topics so that people in the community can incorporate them into their daily lives (nutrition, health, entrepreneurial skills, networking, among others).
We support with management, space and resources for job opportunities and new businesses related to the knowledge that the community already manages.

Help us to build progress in our Maasai Community.
